Growing up, The Royal York Hotel was one of those amazing landmarks for me, I remember driving past it as a kid thinking it was so beautiful, like a castle in the city, the way it stood proud, beautiful and grand amidst the tall modern buildings always made me smile, and stepping into the lobby for the first time as a teenager I was in awe of the hotel’s grandeur and rich history.
So, when we had the chance to stay there (both of us for the first time) this past weekend all of those wonderful memories came flooding back and it was honestly even more beautiful than I remember thinking it was as a child, especially at Christmas time! As someone who was born in Toronto, the hotel is one of those landmarks that you associate with our city’s history, so to get a chance to stay there was kind of a dream come true!

Over the past few years, my husband and I have really started to focus on sharing small gifts at Christmas time or on anniversaries and giving each other and our family bigger experience gifts. We had an amazing time visiting the Fairmont Royal York and The Toronto Christmas market this year and I honestly can’t wait to visit again! To be honest we’ve decided that we just want to live there.
