Holiday with Heart: a Passion Project

“I’ve learned that you shouldn’t go through life with a catcher’s mitt on both hands; you need to be able to throw something back.”

Maya Angelou

When I stop and think about my why, the reason for doing all of this, I often think about giving back and using this platform for good.

Josephine: a Creative Life is and has always been a passion project for me, it started as a way to share stories, to connect with others about the experiences we go through and seeing the blog come offline and into the world in the form of this Charity Event truly makes my heart so happy. It’s something I’ve thought about for years and I want our kids to grow up grateful as happy to help others. Motherhood has taught me a great many things, but when you become a mom there is this beautiful thing that happens and you start to see the whole world as someone’s child and that alone is enough to make you care.

This years’ Holiday with Heart Charity Event was my why in action and it was such a beautiful thing to see!

I wanted to say thank you to everyone who took part in the event, came out and showed their support or donated to The New Mom Project; this was our second annual Holiday with Heart and it was truly a group effort. Everyone who took part used their talents in some way to make it all work and in the end we collected so many donations for the New Mom Project just in time for the holidays!

A big thank you to our Venue and Partner Poppy’s Collection for providing us with a beautiful space to host the event and helping us with so much of the behind the scenes process.

Thank you so much to Ericka from Little Moments To who offered beautiful Christmas Family Mini Sessions for all of the attendees, you work is stunning and you have such a way with kids, your photos always capture the real moments.

IMG_5886To our families for all of the support, from running the craft station, to baking all of the delicious food, everyone was willing to help out and it made the afternoon run so smoothly.

Finally, to everyone who came out to support the event. You being there, bringing donations and supporting this cause really means so much and made a difference.

This event truly was our village coming together to make this happen, bloggers, small shops, family and friends and I can’t wait to do it all again next year!
