Josephine’s Creative Career Moms: Trisha of No Tummy Mommy

vanessa-0065After my oldest son was born my body felt very different. I was aware of the fact that my clothes didn’t fit the same way, but I was so overwhelmed with the challenges of this new stage of my life that getting back into my old fitness routines seemed to only add stress and I quickly lost motivation. By the time I was ready to start working out again I was pregnant with my second and well, this became an excuse for not wanting to make time for myself and exercise the way I had throughout my first pregnancy. Chasing around a toddler all day left me feeling exhausted and I put my own needs on the back burner for some time.

Soon after the birth of my youngest I felt the urge to ‘get back into my body’ and feel more like myself again. I had been introduced to Trisha a few times and when we finally connected I knew I was ready to make a change. When we talked about me trying out the No Tummy Mommy 4-Week Total Kick-Start Challenge I explained that this was not about losing weight or looking a certain way, but about how I felt. And now, four weeks in, I can honestly say that it’s made a huge difference in my day-to-day life! Starting the day with the exercise circuits makes me feel like I’ve accomplished something right away, which is an awesome feeling. Each day I walk away feeling energized and ready to take on the day in a way that I’ve never experienced before. There’s something about getting up and moving in the morning that leaves you with such a positive outlook on the day, you feel like you can take on anything! Even toddler tantrums and infant poop explosions all at once.

When I first started the program I was worried, worried that I couldn’t fit a regular fitness routine into my everyday life and worried that I wouldn’t find the time to eat well. I will admit that it was not easy and there were many moments of weakness (my sweet tooth mainly), but I’m four weeks in,  I’m happy to say that it happened! It wasn’t perfect, but it happened! Trisha’s program was so easy to follow and it fit into my lifestyle so well. She also gave me the continuous support that I needed each week to keep me accountable and motivated. As a working mom, Trisha completely “get’s it” and knows how hard it can be to incorporate fitness into our already packed days. And she’s created a program that is so well suited for busy moms trying to maintain a balance, feel good and keep-up with crazy schedules.

View More: http://reenarayphotography.pass.us/vanessaI didn’t step onto a scale before starting the challenge (as we don’t keep a working scale in the house) and I won’t be weighing in now that it’s almost over, but I will say that this program has made me feel stronger, more energized and happier each day. My hope is to keep up with this program in the future using the tips Trisha’s given me and hopefully I can share this experience with some of you as well!

I started helping mommy friends get their health back on track by offering advice and creating personalized plans for them. My passion for fitness and nutrition was reignited and NTM was born!

  1. Fitness and coaching in the comfort of your own home sounds like the perfect way to get back on track. How does No Tummy Mommy work? What are some of the options for new moms?

vanessa-0060No Tummy Mommy programs are all run via virtual coaching and although customized coaching is not available at this time, mothers can still get a taste of what NTM is all about by trying the latest 4-Week Total Kick-Start Challenge. This standardized program provides a comprehensive guide to working out (in the comfort of your own home), plus a detailed meal plan (supported with recipes) that can help mothers look and feel their best.

  1. As a mom yourself, you’ve said that you “get that it’s not easy trying to balance it all,” what are some of the ways that you balance a business, motherhood and staying healthy? What suggestions would you make for other moms who are hoping to lead the healthiest lifestyle possible?vanessa-0026

A lot of people don’t know that I also work a full-time 9-5 job while also juggling No Tummy Mommy and motherhood. Balance sometimes doesn’t come easy, so when I said “I get it”, I meant that I really know what it feels like to sometimes have those days when you’re too tired after work to hit the gym or when you’ve been up all night with a sick toddler and rather eat a bowl of comforting pasta over your chicken and quinoa for dinner. The intention of No Tummy Mommy is to help mothers create healthier lifestyle habits that they can take with them for years to come.

 

  1. I absolutely love that so many of your pictures on Instagram and on your website are of you and your daughter working out together! How do you make this work and has she always been a part of No Tummy Mommy?

She inspired its evolution and continues to be the motivating factor to keep it going! Since she has been around workouts since she was a baby, she is familiar with some of the moves and likes to join in. Harper is the best workout partner ever!
