Our Two-Year-Old to Me: “ Mama I nee a nack”
Our Three-Year-Old translating on behalf of his brother, just in case it wasn’t clear: “ Mommy Nate needs a snack and me too!”
Living with two toddlers means that it’s snack time all the time. Toddlers love to “snack” and as a busy mama of three, I have to say that when our kids are eating, and eating healthy, I’m happy. So snack on little ones!
Our boys pretty much snack all day long, whether it’s an extra fruit and yogurt pouch between breakfast and lunch, a fruit bar after nap, or the sneaky snack before bed, they are always looking for a snack. Being at home with my kids off and on for the past three-and-a-half years I’ve learned that toddlers need to eat throughout the day, three meals doesn’t work for them (they get hungry in between … and let’s be real, so do adults) so snacking is a must. That’s why I am perfectly happy with my kids snacking, especially when I know the snacks are healthy.
So when I learned about the Love Child Organics toddler snacks and purees I was excited to give them a try! The ingredient lists are short, simple and easy to read. The snacks and purees are also nutritious, organic and contain no unnecessary ingredients, so I feel good about giving them to our kids. Like many parents, I love the idea of making everything from scratch myself and making all of my own purees (which I was able to do with our first, but know it’s not always possible with three) and Love Child is a brand that was built on this very concept, real food and home made goodness, something that is so important to me. That’s why it works so well for us.
Even though our boys are two and three, I still give them the Love Child Organic Purees because it’s an easy way to make sure that they are getting the fruits and veggies they need throughout the day. They are also great for when we are on the go too, I throw a few in the diaper bag, along with some Oaty Chomp Bars or Owlies Spelt Cookies (these are their favourite) and away we go.
As parents it can be tough to make sure that we are making those healthy choices when shopping at the grocery store, especially when you’re shopping with kids and trying to look at ingredient lists. It makes things so much easier when I can be confident that a brand like Love Child Organics is making products that are nutritionally focused (packed with organic superfoods and full of real foods) and socially responsible (they give back to the community and have a recycling program in place). Terracycle ensures that the pouches, snack wrappers and bags are recycled.
I love when I find a brand that I can be excited about sharing with all of you and when it’s time for our daughter to start solids I can take you on that journey with us too!
Happy Snacking,
xo
