I just turned 32 and I’m almost 32 weeks pregnant with our third baby, and well, there’s a lot of crazy and a whole lot of love over here all at once!
Our house is a bustling, busy place filled with energy and excitement as we wait for baby number three to get here. We are also in a huge transition phase already as I am now home with the boys for the next 20 months or so and we are trying to find our groove again.
I’ve been on and off of mat-leaves for the past four years and every time I’m back home with the little ones it’s something new and it takes some getting used to. Right now, It’s 32 degrees out in the afternoons, wow that number is everywhere lately, and we can only really go outside in the mornings and late afternoons, so I am trying to find ways to keep the boys entertained and not fall into the serious screen-time trap.
Day one was tough for us for a couple of reasons; one it was my birthday so the day was busier than normal with lots of visits and phone calls and two; it didn’t feel real. It felt like a little taste of what the next little while would be like, but not the real thing yet. Day two started off a bit differently, everyone slept-in because mommy’s birthday meant a late night for all of us and then it just felt right, like this is where we are supposed to be right now.
The next year-and-a-half is going to be full of changes and new experiences, but I am so happy to be able to spend this time at home with my little ones. Yes, I am a little nervous that there will be tough days (well we all know that there will be tough days) and that I might feel like I need to be doing more with the kids than I actually can handle sometimes, but I am looking forward to enjoying the summer with my boys and easing into things when the new baby arrives in September.
Home really is my happy place and finding our groove here at home together is something that I am truly looking forward to.
As the official kick off to summer is here, I’m sharing the details of some of my favourite summer maternity looks below.
These are a few of my favourite summer maternity dresses from Legoe, an Australian lifestyle label that I am absolutely in love with. Their maternity and nursing wear is minimalist, incredibly comfortable and classic and I honestly can’t say enough great things about them!
Stripped Maternity and Nursing Dress (The Olivia Dress)
I’m also a huge Emu Australia fan, as you’ve seen if you’ve been following along over the years, and I just love these shoes for any occasion when I want to feel great!
Congratulations Vanessa, its really a very special time for you.
Stay blessed.
